I fixed this issue before, could be software issue related or the problem is the TCMnext time post Auto Scan so we can help you, based on the 0AM this TCM has 3 input speed sensors to calculate slip and clutch position, one is located externally G and the other two is located along the other gear selector sensors at back of tcmunplugged the tcm input speed sensor that goes into the dual mass flywheel area and take for a drive and see if it shifts correctly, if it does then that part of tcm not working, also the reason it will work the system will use input speed signal from ECM to calculate the clutch position and slip as a compensation.

Namely: there are the gear variants in which the sensors operate in a pulsed mode, that is, when the shaft unfolds to the required rotations, then the sensor sends a short signal to the control unit that it is required to increase or decrease the gear usually the unit itself monitors the sensor data all the time and already when it shows the required shaft turns, the control unit switches gear. And in this case, with impulsive sensors, there may be such a situation that if the firmware you put into the gearbox at least for some parameters is not suitable for this box, then there may be similar problems.

What exactly happens, for example, you switch to the 3rd gear, the sensor sends a signal that needs to be raised by the transfer, but the firmware states that switching should occur at faster rotations of the shaft this data is received from another sensor and it ignores this signal of an increase in transmission. For this reason, having enough transmission fluid in the gearbox is crucial as not having enough will likely cause the clutch assembly to burn out due to insufficient pressure.

In reality, the way the DQ is built is actually quite different. For one thing, the control module is a self contained hydraulic unit. The fluid used to control the hydraulic components is completely sealed away from the rest of the transmission, and technical data on the module states that draining this fluid could very possibly damage the unit!

The advantage, however, is that the transmission requires considerably less fluid overall, which brings the weight down and the efficiency up. In keeping with the less fluid, less weight, greater efficiency theme, the DQ also makes the switch from a wet clutch to a dry clutch assembly. Though it is still a dual clutch, the clutch assembly in the DQ looks much more like a traditional manual clutch. Fitting a DQ clutch is far from a simple affair. It requires special tools and a particular procedure.

The DQ, as of writing this article, is the only DSG transmission to make use of a dry clutch assembly. It is also at the centre of a major recall due a quite significant design flaw.

This flaw—particularly in regions with high humidity—results in shorted electrical connection within the electronic control unit. This results shuddering, loss of power, and even total loss of drive, and has resulted in Volkswagen voluntarily recalling hundreds of thousands of vehicles.

First you say it's Nm which appears in your 13 year old service training brochure then say it's Nm? Is there a possibility of there being updated specs? Because the Golf R stock makes Nm of torque.

The first actual dual-clutch transmissions were derived from Porsche in-house development for their Model racing cars in the s. This new type of automatic gearbox shifted extremely athletically and was up to 20 percent more economical than the automatic gearbox with hydraulic torque converter. And that changed everything. All dual clutch gearboxes are united by an extraordinarily good shifting performance without tractive effort interruption. The shifting process takes place within a few hundredths of a second. During cruising, the DSG shifts up a gear very early — this saves fuel. It is also a fact that the dual clutch gearboxes are a perfect match for the hybrid systems of tomorrow.
